THINKING THE HUMAN WITH GIRARD AND DARWIN
At Stanford this November 15-16, 2010, an international conference will discuss the relationship between mimetic theory and evolutionary theory. HENRI ATLAN TO SPEAK AT STANFORD NOVEMBER 18, 2010
Biophysicist and philosopher Henri Atlan will speak at the Stanford Humanities Center at 5:00 pm on November 18th to celebrate the English translation of his magnum opus, The Sparks of Randomness. Volume 1: Spermatic Knowledge will be published by Stanford University Press in December 2010.

DECEIT, DESIRE AND THE NOVEL 50 YEARS LATER: GLOBAL EVENTS

EVENT: MAKING PEACE WITH REVELATION

2011 COV&R CONFERENCE ANNOUNCED
The 2011 Colloquium on Violence & Religion will meet on the island of Salina off Sicily June 15-18, 2001, under the auspices of the Università di Messina. The theme is Disorder/Order in History and Politics, inspired by René Girard's Achever Clausewitz. Proposals for papers, panels, sessions and seminars are due March 14, 2011. AUSTRALIAN GIRARD SEMINAR MEETS
The inaugural meeting of scholars who utilise the work and insights of René Girard in Australia and the Asia-Pacific is tentatively scheduled for January 14-15, 2011 at St. Paul's College in the University of Sydney.
