Welcome to the first edition of Double Double, the newsletter from Imitatio.  As a nonprofit foundation devoted to furthering mimetic theory (MT), Imitatio offers a virtual home base for people from across the globe interested in MT.

EUROPEAN SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

ESSImitatio and the Dutch Girard Society will host a European Summer School July 12-25th, 2010 in the Netherlands.  Take two weeks and take away a whole new perspective.  Advanced undergraduates and graduate students will get an introduction to René Girard's work from an all-star team of scholars in literature, theology, anthropology and philosophy.  Scholarships are still available for qualified students.
 
THE IMITATIO ONLINE LIBRARY IS READY FOR YOU

V&S bookStudy and search the key works of mimetic theory online!  Register now for access to the Imitatio Online Library.  The library features the full texts of books by René Girard and others, including landmark volumes like Things Hidden Since the Foundation of the World and Violent Origins as well as hard-to-find works like Job: The Victim of His People.
 
THEOLOGY AND PEACE 2010 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Peace Theologians, pastors, activists, and others gather May 25-27th, 2010 in Chicago to develop a theology and practice of peace using the insights of mimetic theory.
 
MIMETIC THEORY MEETING IN BOGOTA JUNE 9TH, 2010

Javierana Scholars from across Central and South America will gather June 9th, 2010 at the Pontificia Universidad Javierana in Bogota, Colombia.
COV&R 2010 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

ND seal "Transforming Violence: Cult, Culture, and Acculturation" is the theme of this year's meeting of the Colloqiuium on Violence and Religion, scheduled for June 30th - July 4th, 2010 at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
RAVEN FOUNDATION ESSAY WINNER ANNOUNCED
